Hi,
Are you sure you need a bike with 24" wheels? You may be able to use the XS 26" bikes. I don't see many 24" wheeled bikes other than department store quality bikes. Coopers is a great area to ride bikes. We sometimes have beginner level club rides in Coopers. If you could come to the club meeting Wednesday, maybe we could help you get started.

What is your price range? Depending on that, you might even be able to get a new bike. You'll probably have a hard time finding a used 24" wheeled bike that is in reasonable shape. Benny's right, 24" bikes are most commonly found on the dept. store bike rack. I do know that Specialized has made "Grom" bikes in the past, which are 24" versions of adult bikes like the Hardrock. In fact, there are some 2008 models still available. Contact me at Oconee Outfitters if you're interested.

The Specialized A-1 Hotrock is a solid bike, and not a play-toy by any stretch. My son has been on one for the last couple of years and rides the crap out of it. Relatively light and has "real" components. Finding a used one (24-incher) is a bit of a challenge though. I never could find a used one, and ended up purchasing a new one from Outfitters. I recently had a friend searching for a used one for his son, and it took him a while to finally snag one on ebay. We're going to try to make it to the Spring on this one, but he is on the verge of outgrowing it. I've added a new stem and the seat post is maxed out. Good luck!
